Happy International Women’s Day

A big happy International Women’s Day from all the team here at Swell! 

We have local ladies performing amazingly on the world stage, but this is an appreciation to all of those who brave the chilly waters in Tofino on a regular basis. Most sports are male dominated and surfing is no different, but here in Tofino, there is a tight-knit community of surfer gals that we at Swell are lucky to share the water with. A lot of them shred harder than the men. These women are an inspiration for the younger generation coming up and looking at the youth competitions and seeing the youngsters in the water just shows how many young ladies are pushing their surfing development from our little home in the North Pacific.

We have such a beautiful selection of beaches and nature that has contributed to the development of Tofino and its ability to retain a certain type of person here. The women in our community are second to none and we are lucky to have them. Working in every industry in town they are the life and soul of Tofino. Whether you surf or not we appreciate all of our wonderful ladies!
