Who can go on this trip?

You don’t need any canoeing experience for this trip. Your guide will steer the canoe and show the group how to paddle (you do need to help with paddling).

This trip is good for ages 5 and up. (We can accommodate younger guests, but only for private bookings).

The walk along the big tree trail is a relaxed pace and based on exploring. The big tree trail is a boardwalk trail but does have stairs and some slippery sections. There is a short tricky scramble over some rocks and roots from the landing site to the start of the trail that your guide can help you with.

Things to bring

Warm layer, wind breaker, or rain protection.

Footwear; secure shoes with good grip.

Backpack with: Lunch or snack to enjoy on the big tree trail. Water bottle, sun protection, camera.

Canoe tours depart from Jamie’s Whaling Station in Tofino; 606 Campbell St., Tofino, BC., Check in 30 minutes before trip time to sign waivers and prepare. A copy of the waiver can be seen here.
