Which beach to go to?
There are multiple beaches within a 3-8 minute walk or drive from our shop. We have a surf forecast updated daily; just ask one of our Swell Team where the best beach is for your ability/activities. We’re happy to give you recommendations.
How do I get my gear to the beach?
For vehicles without roof racks, we provide soft roof racks and straps. No car? No problem. You can rent a beach cruiser with a bike-surf rack, or take a 10-minute walk to the beach.
What do I need to bring to rent?
A credit card, phone number & email address. If you are under the age of 19, you will need an adult to sign a minor waiver for you.
What happens if I damage the gear?
Our team will talk you through how to take care of rental equipment, and we have optional insurance for soft top surfboards. However, there are a few charges for damage outside of normal wear and tear.
How does the surfboard insurance work?
$5 soft top surfboard insurance covers up to $300 dollars of in-water damage. This means if you run into another surfer and ding the board, surf into the sand and lose a fin, or break a leash, the gear is covered. It does not include dropping or dragging the board in the car park, or on your journey to the beach.
What happens if I only need the gear for less time than I rented it for?
We have a no-refund policy for early returns, but you can always extend your rental. Ask our team, and they can help you find the best option.
What happens if I need to return the gear and the shop is closed?
We don’t accept returns when the shop is closed; this is an automatic $100 fee. Give us a call, and we can extend your rental.
Do I need to book ahead?
No, we have lots of gear at both of our locations and we re-stock throughout the day. However, if you are coming with a large group, especially in the summer months, then it can be a good idea to book online.
What is your cancellation policy for online rentals?
It is the same as our surf lessons; you can cancel up to 48 hours before. All cancelations have a $10 administration fee, unless we have to cancel because of the weather conditions.
