Private Surf Lesson

Take a private surf lesson, have your own dedicated surf instructor for you or your group.

How It Works:

Your private surf lesson begins when we meet at our storefront location in Hotel Zed to check-in, sign waivers, and put wetsuits on. We'll then drive separately to the surfing beach (5-10 minutes). The instructors will bring the surfboards to the beach, you will need to provide your own transportation to the beach. After surfing you will change at the beach and the instructors collect your wetsuits and surf gear.

If you're booking for a larger group of younger surfers we'll provide adults with a wetsuit as well to join us in the water and help the younger ones with their boards.

Age And Ability:

We can accommodate younger ones with their parents in the water (optional), as well as non-swimmers! Private lessons are ages 5+. Please contact us if you have any questions!

You don’t need any previous experience. Beginner lessons are conducted in waist to chest deep water. In the case that you're not comfortable swimming, please let us know ahead of time and we will customize the surf lesson to your ability!

Lesson Times:

High season (March 15 to October 15) - two lesson times per day - 10:00am or 1:30pm check-in.

Winter season (October 16 to March 14) - one lesson time per day - 12:30pm check-in.

Private surfing lessons are a 3 hour experience starting from the check in time. This includes suiting up, introductions, safety talk on the beach and roughly 1 to 1.5 hours surfing.

Cancellation Policy
Swell has a 48 hour cancellation policy for day tours and lessons. A full refund minus a $10 administration fee will be issued for trips cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances if guests provide notice more than 48 hours before departure time.

There will be NO refund for cancellations made by guests with less than 48 hours notice.If we need to cancel a tour/lesson/course due to weather conditions we will issue a full refund.
